Lawyer Profile: Neinstein Personal Injury Lawyers profile: Mike Wolkowicz

Mike Wolkowicz is one of the youngest lawyers on our team. We spoke to him about what inspires him at work and what he loves about being part of the Neinstein team. Read our Q&A with Mike below.

What inspired you to become a personal injury lawyer?

MW: What inspired me was twofold; firstly, the opportunity to work with individuals as opposed to large companies, which allows me to put a face to the work I am doing on a day-to-day basis. Secondly, the ability to practice litigation and the opportunity, at a young age, to present in court, before both my Masters and Judges degrees.

What is your particular area of expertise and what would you like people to know about it?

MW: Our firm focuses on personal injury, accident benefits and long-term disability claims, whether they arise from motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, product malfunction or an unrelated issue. From the outset of my time at Neinstein Personal Injury Lawyers I have been immersed in all these types of claims and consequently, I have developed a well-rounded understanding. I think what is most important for people to know is what ennamements and recourse they have following an event like the above mentioned. Before beginning to work in this area of law, I had absolutely no understanding of the benefits and protections available following these events prior to my education. It is important to contact a lawyer with expertise in this area in order to know your rights.

Describe a case early in your career that really affected you and solidified your decision to help people in this way.

MW: There is no one case I can identify, but rather a type of case. As a young person beginning my career, I find common ground with my clients and have a lot of sympathy for young accident victims who are in a similar life stage. The disruption an accident and serious injury at the beginning stages of adulthood can pose to a person can be potentially devastating. It is important to have someone representing you that sees the big picture and can help plan for any eventuality.

How do you go about making clients feel comfortable when they may have been through a trauma and they're worried about their futures?

MW: After an initial consultation with our firm clients will see individuals that are well informed, helpful and caring people, who are willing to go the extra mile to assist clients. Our first goal is to help people recover and that is transparent. The best way to make people feel comfortable is to reassure them that they will be provided with all the assistance they need in the recovery process, whether it be physical therapy, occupational therapists, or legal representation. We listen to what our clients are telling us and provide support accordingly.
